Bourbon announces the return of its popular race-day soirée on May 6th, as well as a new specialty julep menu available for a week leading up to the derby.

From May 1-5, patrons can order classic mint juleps or one of three twists inspired by this year’s most-promising ponies. They include the Classic Empire, with Old Grandad bourbon, matcha and green-tea syrup and mint; Always Dreaming, a tiki-inspired take with Toki Suntory whisky, apricot and pineapple juice, orgeat and lime juice; and Thunder Snow, with High West Silver OMG rye whiskey, mango and bell pepper.

As race fans gather at Churchill Downs for the Kentucky Derby on Saturday, May 6th, Bourbon will host its legendary watch party, which kicks off early with brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Classic mint juleps prepared with crushed ice and Old Forester, the official bourbon of Churchill Downs, will be just $10 all day, and classic Derby Pies are among the passed treats Bourbon will offer its guests.

Revelers are encouraged to wear race-day finery: A prize will be offered for the best-dressed, and a separate raffle will also shower rewards on one lucky winner. There will be no admission charge for Derby Day; table seating will be available on a first come, first-served basis only.
